Indigenous People and the Africans who came before Columbus
Indians, Native Americans, Aborigines and First Nation are all names which have been used to describe the origin people of the Americas. Though the length of time they have occupied the western hemisphere has been debated, we do know that they are the original peple of these lands.
Civilizations and Tribal organizations were the functioning government entities in both North and South America. The original people of these lands lived in peace and harmony with their neighbors.
Research and artifacts further prove that African people touched ground, developed relationships and settled in the Americas before Columbus. The Olmec of Mexico preceeded the modern nation of Mexico.
There are numerous artifacts and evidence that people from the African continent were present in the Americas long before European explores knew of these areas.
